Google Analytics

How many members understand, or know what Google analytics is? This is a very valuable tool for capturing statistical information on where your web traffic is coming from in terms in terms of directories, organic search, PPC, bookmarks etc.
What are your opinions regarding this software versus Hitslinks in terms of efficiency?

Rivak, I assume "Hitlinks" just gives you the number of visits the website recieves. If it does not
break the the hits into categories then you don't know which sources to continue to target or dump
organizatonal dollars into.

Hello Charles,

Hits links is like the caller ID for big web sites. I can find out the words the individual typed into the search bar, what search engine they used ie google, yahoo, MSN, Ask Jeeves, webcrawler etc. I also can track what pages they specifically looked at on the Somagenesis web site and how many minutes they looked at each page. In addition I know there IP address, where in the world their computer is and, I have a predictor algorithm which tells me what the probability of these" lookee loos" actually sending us and e-mail or calling us. The best things about the tracking system is I can find out how they ended up getting to us. Did they find us on a directory such as Yelp.com, San Diegocitysearch.com, Craigslist, Greattrainers.com etc. or did they find us from Google Adwords ad like the ones listed on the right side of this forum. Anyway I hope this helped clarify things. It is good to know the behaviors of your customers.
